The Show

"Afterparty" Released January 24,2021

I hope everyone is healthy and ready to turn the page to better times - and new music!

With a new year, new president, and hopefully new immunity to the virus, my new single "Afterparty" fits the mood and warms up the dance floor. Everyone likes an afterparty, when the show is done and we can celebrate a great performance, accomplishment, survival, anything! "Afterparty" fits the mood and celebration.

Listen to "Afterparty on Spotify"

"Afterparty" (single release date 1/24/21) and one other song will be added to a "deluxe" version of The Show EP released in October, 2020, and that will wrap up The Show. Release date for "The Show (Deluxe Version)" will be sometime in Q1.  Stay tuned for that.

Catch my latest interview with Flyah Magazine (1/12/21). I talk about The Show,  Iowa,  Jazz, Austin....it's all fun.

I want to give a shout out to WJMX Smooth Jazz Boston Global RadioKASU 91.9 FM Arkansas State Public Radio  and Blaze 1 Radio, the latest stations to add my music to their library for airplay. Thanks!

Thanks to JazzCorner for publishing an interview they did with me on my "origin story". Everyone has one, and this summarizes  mine.

Alan Goldberg

Longtime Austin-based musician and composer Alan Goldberg uses his passion for melody, harmony, and the divine to fuel his compositions.  Anchored by the piano and supported by jazz, progressive rock, and blues, his musical explorations flow from prog rock to mellow jazz in a seamless web of musical storytelling.

Goldberg’s roots in classic progressive rock, including such bands as  Yes, Jethro Tull, Genesis, Frank Zappa, and The Who, along with blues rock and jazz fusion influences like The Allman Brothers and Chick Corea,   built a foundation of melody, harmony, and rhythm that fused together and molded his improvisational piano style. He has played keyboards in local Austin blues/Rock bands for the past 20 years, absorbing the Austin vibe to keep the musical roots and vibe fresh and immediate.

The music from his first three albums is used for meditation, yoga, relaxation, and background music in spiritual settings. Goldberg plays a fusion of  prog rock, blues, and jazz in "Passion No Distraction", and returns to jazz ensemble in "The Show EP".
